Sleepy Sunday
I think everybody’s tired of winter.

My husband got me a new camera for my birthday, so I’ve been playing around with it this weekend learning how to use it. Of course the critters serve as my main test subjects!
So here are some I took today. Notice that the snow is melting? Yay!!
This is what I walk out the front door to when I’m late feeding in the morning (like on the weekends). Aren’t they funny? They’re at the closest possible point they can be to the house, staring intently at the front door.
Beautiful shot of Josie peering over the snow bank along our walkway:
Nook in her favorite spot to stand–on top of a snow bank:
Josie was being unusually photogenic today:
A fun action shot of the Husky Girls rough-housing:
The horses slowly make their way toward the barn as I make my way down the driveway. They “track” me. LOL.
Pretty shot of my sweet Paige:
Cassie has the coolest striped hooves. They are nice and clean here so you can see the stripes nicely:
Awww…

Well, it would seem that my mother is not the only one with a bulls-eye painted on her fence. Someone slid off the road yesterday and hit our fence. Mike discovered it this morning. They did not come to the house or leave a note. I do not understand people like that.
We won’t know if the post they hit is broken until the snow melts, but it’s definitely leaning in. Broke one board, but doesn’t look like there’s too much damage. It’s actually a good thing there was so much snow plowed up along the road or the car would have certainly gone through the fence. For it to have moved as much snow as it did, the driver had to be going fast. We are fortunate that it was only a decorative fence and not a functional fence that was keeping the horses in (like Mom’s was).
This is the second time since I moved back here that someone has gone off the road and damaged my property and not bothered to leave a note or knock on my door. I just don’t get it.

We had a couple days reprieve from the snow, then got slammed again the past couple days with even more snow and high winds. Didn’t have work today.
We couldn’t get our driveway cleared with our 4-wheeler today; there’s just no where to push the new snow to with all the snow already out there. My dad and brother came and plowed it out, but the winds are so bad that I don’t think it will stay that way for long. We have our vehicles parked at the pole barn, which is only 600 ft. from the road instead of the 1000 ft. that our house is.
The horses are doing fine. They don’t seem too bothered by it all. And hey, I’m getting a good workout every time I walk to the barn and back through all this snow! Better than a stairstepper!
I’m ready for this snow to be over and done with!
