Paige’s Page

She’s very trusting of me. I didn’t know if she would go for the buckets, but she did! She kept wanting to play with them. She pulled them off once and didn’t spook at all when they clanked and made noise. She just nosed them around. Those strips of rubber were pretty heavy–they’re scraps from the stall mats.

You know that website “Stuff On My Cat?” Well, I give you “Stuff On My Horse:”

(In case you are wondering, this was part of Paige’s desensitizing lessons. It all started with the saddle pad, and then it just kept on going from there as I kept asking myself, “I wonder if she would let me do this…”)

This morning was sunny and really cold. We’re having an arctic blast here this weekend.

We also had a triumph this morning in that she picked up her front feet for me with no problem. She acted like it was no big deal and she had been doing it her whole life. I didn’t hold them up–I let her put them right back down since this was the first step. Next time I’ll hold them for a couple seconds.

Tonight when I got home and was doing chores, Paige was feeling really good and running around showing off. She was so pretty to watch. I ran inside to get my camera, and she of course became camera shy and mellow after that. So no cool videos of her running around, just some boring clips of her hanging out.

Sorry they’re so dark–I think that happened when YouTube processed them. I’ll try to get some better ones soon!

I forgot to mention that thet vet thinks her pinkness around her eyes is just her markings that she was born with. I guess it’s just another interesting part of her coloring. I’m really looking forward to seeing her summer coat in person!
