Still Kickin!
We’re still alive and kickin’ over here! My internet time has been drastically reduced due to some major events that have been going on, so I haven’t had time to post to the blog recently. I got engaged two weeks ago and my grandma was in ICU that following week. I’ve just now started getting around to telling my friends about it. Grandma is better now and home with my mom, and wedding plans are in the works. The wedding is only 3 months away, and I’m thinking the busiest part of the planning seems to be this first month.
Cassie and Paige are living the good life. I just came in from fly spraying them. Cassie’s really good about leaving her fly mask on. I actually have to take it off periodically or she’ll get a rub on her nose. Paige, on the other hand, doesn’t leave hers on for long before I have to go hunting for it out in the pasture. They have the pasture pretty well mowed down b/c we haven’t had rain in a while. Go figure–it wouldn’t stop raining all the way through July, and now it’s dry as a bone. The creek as even stopped flowing so I’ve had to start filling water buckets for them. I find it funny, too, that they will stand in the stall contentedly together. That has totally surprised me. Paige still herds Cassie around, but they seem to have come to a mutual understanding.
I just ran out and snapped some shots of the girls since they’re up here by the house right now. They both have a little bit of a grass belly, but not bad since the pasture’s not very rich. Their feet are in need of a trim. I have to say, though, that I’ve been surprised at how the rocks in the creek have been keeping them filed down naturally. They’re just not as pretty as when they get a pedicure.
