Big Winter Storm

Published by admin at 9:44 am under Uncategorized

The eastern Midwest to the Mid-Atlantic got hit by a pretty strong winter storm yesterday.  We got well over a foot of snow here with high winds so lots of very deep snow drifts out there.  We are under a Level 3 snow emergency, which means only emergency vehicles are allowed on the roads.

My ability to take pictures is hindered because although the snow appears to have tapered off, the winds are still strong and blowing the snow all around.  Here are a few I snapped:

Snow drifted up against the window:

There are shrubs under all that snow:

Our front patio:

Our back yard:

Mike and I have been wondering why that concrete wall is along the side of our front patio.  Now we know!

Can you see the tree swing?

Poor Big Girls.  They are free to come and go from their stall, which they clearly have been doing judging by the icicles hanging on them.

Wow.  That drift is a good foot taller than the water trough (which is a big, 100 gallon trough):
